Opening Ceremonies

Some people fall so entirely in love each and every time the opportunity is presented to them. Some have a hunger so insatiable at my dinner table that I sit across from them in awe of their capacity for gastric enjoyment. Some cannot quench their thirst for knowledge, for language, for travel, for music, for good company. These are the relationships that I cherish in my life. These people challenge me to open my heart more thoroughly, my hunger more completely, my mind more graciously. They challenge my capacity for my own questions and the space I have within me to hold the answers. They welcome me to the feast in good company.
